FOIA #3 - Miphy Survey

Dear FOIA Coordinator,

Pursuant to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., I am requesting the following public records related to the Michigan Profile for Healthy Youth (MiPHY) survey administered within Birmingham Public Schools:

1. The complete MiPHY survey instrument, including all questions administered to students in any BPS building, for each administration cycle from the 2022-2023 school year through the date of this request.

2. All district-level and building-level MiPHY results reports for each administration cycle from the 2022-2023 school year through the date of this request, for grades 7, 9, and 11.

3. Any summary reports, presentations, or analyses of MiPHY results that were prepared by or for Birmingham Public Schools administration or the Board of Education during the same timeframe.

4. Any communications between BPS administrators, board members, or staff regarding the MiPHY survey results, including decisions made in response to those results, from the 2022-2023 school year through the date of this request.

Please note that MiPHY results belong to the local school district under state guidance, and access is determined at the local level. I am requesting all records within BPS's possession or control.

If any portion of this request is denied, please provide a written explanation citing the specific statutory exemption(s) relied upon, and please release any portions of responsive records that are not exempt.

I request a response within the timeframe required by Michigan's Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq.
