M-STEP Results — PAACT Birmingham

M-STEP (Michigan Student Test of Educational Progress) is the state's annual assessment of academic proficiency in English Language Arts and Math. Results below are drawn from official state data and cover Spring 2025 results for all Birmingham Public Schools.

Elementary schools are ranked using Grades 3–5 data. Middle schools use Grades 6–7. BCS (Birmingham Covington School) is a school of choice operating within the district, shown here as a reference point for what is achievable within the same system.

Why 2022? 2022 was the first year all schools returned to full in-person testing after COVID-19. It is the fairest post-pandemic baseline. Green bars show schools that have recovered and grown since then. Red bars show schools still below where they were in 2022.
